Song of the Six Confidences and The Song that Clarifies Recollection by Jigten Sumgon, with Venerable Khenpo Samdup Rinpoche

- Song of the Six Confidences: Taklung Thangpa, seeing the inconceivable increase of Jigten Sumg6n ‘s activities, sent offerings to him and said, “I have forther teachings given by our guru, Phagmo Drupa; it would be of great benefit if you were to receive these. ” In reply, Jigten Sumgon sent offerings of his own, including this song:
- The Song that Clarifies Recollection: Once, when Jigten Sumgon was residing at Drikung Thel, he gathered his students in a meadow behind the monas- tery and asked them to perform displays of their miracle power. All but one was able to comply with their guru’s request, and this disciple, Rinchen Drag, suddenly died from shame. When the undertakers tried to dismember his corpse to feed the vultures, the body resisted the knife. Jigten Sumgon placed his walking stick on the heart-center of the
corpse, and sang this song.

On 08 April 2021, Khenpo Samdup Rinpoche’s mother, Tsundu Wangmo, passed away with ease and without suffering. She had cultivated a life time of unwavering devotion to her guru, H.E. Garchen Rinpoche, which was evident at the time of her passing as she called out to her precious teacher.
